Elaine Curtis Wedding Celebrant

Hello and welcome! My name is Elaine Curtis and as an Independent Celebrant and Marriage Officer with TLC Group, I am fully authorised (subject to the correct paperwork being submitted) to legally solemnise a marriage between any two consenting adults who are of sound mind, and who align with the TLC Group beliefs of  love, kindness and respect.

I absolutely love my job.  It is such a pleasure meeting couples as they start their wedding journey and I pride myself on delivering the ceremony of your dreams.

My approach is light-hearted and filled with fun and laughter and a wee bit of banter too. Everyone’s love story is unique, and I’m committed to ensuring your wedding ceremony enables you to celebrate the way you want to.

About Elaine

I’ve been married to my husband Jim for over 30 years.  We’re best pals and we love spending time together, socialising with our friends and travelling the world.  Welove nothing better than getting on a plane and going to explore a new destination whether that be in the sunshine of Dubai or Florida or a glacier in Alaska.

My favourite thing of all though is reading a book by the side of a swimming pool with the sunshine on my back. I’ve been blessed to have lived a fabulous life and my mantra is no regrets.

My working life has been primarily in sales where I loved talking to my customers and everyone always laughed because people genuinely just tell me things.

Becoming a celebrant was always something I’d thought about and having Jim support me on my journey has made it all possible and I can genuinely say it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

As a person I’m honest and direct but also caring and empathic.  I like things to be done properly and I don’t procrastinate.  I love meeting new people and am a great listener and I love having fun and helping people.

If you think I could be the celebrant who could give you the wedding ceremony of your dreams, please get in touch, for a no obligation chat.

Making it Legal

I am authorised by the Registrar General in Scotland through TLC Group to solemnise your marriage on the day of your wedding.  However, you must submit your notice to marry to the local registry office of your venue, NOT the registry office where you live (if it’s different).

Notices can be submitted between 12 weeks to 29 days prior to your wedding date.  The documentation that you will be required to submit will vary depending on your circumstances and payment for this will be made to the registry office direct.

I strongly recommend that you don’t leave this to the lastminute.  A legal marriage can’t take place without the submission of the correct paperwork. You may need to attend an appointment at the registry office so please plan for this.  This should definitely be top of your to-do list!

The links below will help you get organised and I recommend getting in touch with the experts at registry office with any queries you may have.  There are other things that you will have to think about/do but I’ll be able to help with those when you book.

Your unique wedding ceremony

At TLC Group we believe that a marriage is a lifelong connection between two people whose values are based on love, kindness and respect.  If that sounds like you as a couple, then it would my honour to marry you.

When you book me as your celebrant, I’ll be happy to share my experience and offer you suggestions to ensure that your wedding ceremony meets your expectations.

After getting to know you both, I’ll write a completely personal ceremony that will be filled with love, fun and laughter…..and maybe a few happy tears too!

On your wedding day, I’ll be at your venue before your guests arrive, ensuring everything is perfect.  I’ll be there for you and your bridal party to help calm any pre ceremony nerves and because I’m part of the TLC Group, should anything happen to me on your wedding day another wedding celebrant would step in, so we’ve got everything covered.

Pricing

I know you’ll be desperate to know what the cost of having the ceremony of your dreams will cost, so let’s not put it off any longer………..

Weddings

£545

This includes all meetings, the creation of your unique script and attendance on your wedding day.

Travel is the only exception. If you are within a 50-mile return radius that will be included in the standard price. Extra mileage is charged at 50p per mile.  Please get in touch and we can discuss your venue/location and I can give you an exact quotation. Occasionally an overnight may be required due to location and this will also be factored into the overall quote.

Elopements

£545

Again, this includes all meetings, the creation of your unique script and attendance on your wedding day.

Ceremonies can take place wherever you choose. Indoors or outdoors, just remember this is Scotland and our weather isn’t always as dependable as we’d like.

Please get in touch to discuss your choice of venue/location and note that overall price will vary depending on your location and travel.  If you are within a 50-mile return radius that will be included in the standard price. Extra mileage is charged at 50p. Please get in touch and I’ll be happy to discuss your options and give you an exact quote.

Renewal of Vows

£250

Similar to a wedding ceremony this will include all meetings, the creation of your unique script and attendance on your vow renewal day.

Again, travel is the only exception. If you are within a 50-mile return radius that will be included in the standard price. Extra mileage is charged at 50p per mile.  Please get in touch and we can discuss your venue/location and I can give you an exact quotation.

Securing your Date

A non-refundable deposit of £195 paid via BACS will be required to book your wedding ceremony. Payment of the remainder of the non-refundable balance is required to be paid in full 12 weeks before your wedding date.

Should your wedding date have to change within 12 weeks of your balance being paid, wherever possible, I will try to accommodate your new date. However, I can’t guarantee this.

Unfortunately, if full payment is not made 10 weeks before your wedding date, your booking will be cancelled and your deposit will not be refunded.  Cancelled weddings with 12 weeks or less to go will be charged at full original cost with no refund.

In the very unlikely case that I have to cancel your booking, I will refund 100% of the fee paid and I will help you source another celebrant.

A little bit of advice, I would highly recommend that you take out wedding insurance to cover all aspects of your wedding. You never know what the future might hold!

Can we pay 100% upfront? To keep things simple, 12weeks before your date is the earliest you can make your final payment.

If you're looking for a unique wedding ceremony. Please contact me.
